Beqa Lagoon is also home to a wide variety of marine species of all sizes and a big attraction in the area is the variety of sharks including bull sharks, whitetip reef sharks, hammerhead sharks, silvertip sharks, black tip sharks and more. If you are after a real diving adventure, indulge in Beqa Lagoon and Aqua Trek Beqa will ensure that you will not be disappointed.
Garden Island Resort Offers Diving Variety
Garden Island Resort, Taveuni has always had a beautiful living house reef. Living hard corals are just a short swim out from your room. Guests love snorkeling along it or going on afternoon shore dives. Recently the resort decided to improve on this by building fish houses out of rock in front of the reef wall. The fish houses were built on the sand and within days a variety of tropical reef fish moved in including lionfish, scorpion fish, leaf fish, morays and even anemones with clown fish, plus all the damselfish and juvenile reef fish. Six fish houses have been built so far, and you can spend a long time in each spot – there is a lot to see!
Garden Island resort is working to get this protected by the Tui Cakau (chief of the province) and have house reef declared a marine park. Many guests are now diving daily out the front of the resort, where before most would only do their morning boat dives. Garden Island is one of only a few resorts in Fiji that can offer truly spectacular shore diving.
